Who We Are And Why We're Here
The Stoke Poges Task Force was formed in August 2025 in response to this serious threat to the green infrastructure within the Parish of Stoke Poges.
We are residents and supporters who value exercise, recreation and community life in nature. We believe that our open spaces must be preserved - not only for our own wellbeing, but to protect the character of the historic landscape of Stoke Poges and the neighbouring parishes.
Why It Matters
In a recent referendum, residents voted to adopt the Stoke Poges Neighbourhood Plan, now a statutory planning document. It provides strong protection for our green infrastructure and highlights the need for a connected green network between Stoke Poges and Farnham Royal.

Yet, despite these safeguards, and in direct contradiction to them, this major development is being proposed.
What We're Doing
Our aim is to empower the community and to prevent this unwanted project from becoming reality.

We are not just raising concerns — we are taking action:

-
Researching & Informing – studying council plans and policies, and sharing the facts in plain language with our community.
-
Engaging Residents – raising awareness through meetings, social media, and local networks so everyone knows what’s at stake.
-
Representing Your Voice – responding to consultations and contacting councillors to ensure community views are heard.
-
Building Alliances – linking with neighbouring parishes, environmental groups, and local organisations to strengthen opposition.
-
Organising Action – from petitions to public events, giving residents clear ways to show that this plan is not supported.

Together, these steps make sure our community has both the knowledge and the voice to defend our green space.
